DynamX 2 In Detail + MRL Progress

A lot of progress has been made today and I figured it was worth another post. I will first go into detail on DynamX 2

WINTER EFFECTS: Though it doesn't look like it in the photo above, that is the winter exhaust sitting in hi-idle. It's thicker than summer but also consistent. It also has a lighter color than in the other seasons.

HUMIDITY & TEMPERATURE: The color and density of the exhaust alters based on the humidity and temperature of the outside world. The temperature of the motor also has an effect on this.

HEAT INDEX: That's right. The smoke will have different effects during the summer time as the temperature and humidity are calculated into the heat index. Expect thinner but darker smoke.

NOTCHING: Depending on if you notch up, down, or stay in the desired notch, each one will vary the effects accordingly.

TUNNELS: Being in a tunnel will affect the temperature. The exhaust will appear darker when you leave a tunnel and will lighten up as it cools down (this does not include overheating simulation).

Bare in mind that this is still a work in progress and will continue to post as more progress is made.

Now it's time for MRL...

A lot of focus has been put on BNSF, but LP has been hard at work behind the scenes working on the cab details for the MRL unit that will be included with the pack.

EPIC brake stand.

Blanking plate for the right FIRE screen.

Analog gauges for the left side of the control stand.

The FIRE screens will be modified to accommodate for the single screen on the MRL unit.

Something cool I managed to do tonight was this.

The Locomotive Data button now works on both screens in-game.

I've gotten quite a few inquiries about the clock on the right FIRE screen. I will be implementing a clock in due time, but not a working date. The reason why is that there's no call for date in the game, so you would have to read off of the date on your PC. I would rather include correct data for the scene than fib it with the computer date.

That's all for tonight. Keep an eye out for more cool stuff.
