LPM BNSF SD70ACe - Development Update (2/28/24)

I have not forgotten about this blog. Work has taken priority recently and I'm finally getting around to writing a post about the progress LP and I have made on this thing.

Firstly, I want to thank you all for being patient as we inch closer and closer to a release. It's still a good while out but it will definitely be worth the wait.

Audio is implemented at a basic level, but there's still much to be done on it.

Let's take a quick look at both the old and new model and see what we've upgraded to (for some reason my RSC script is broken).

Amazing what 13 years of progress can do. Just by default it looks a million times better. Colors are more accurate and there's more depth overall.

Now let's look at the FIRE screens. Firstly - RSC.

Now let's look at what they look like 13 years later.

The last time we visited the ACe, I don't think I mentioned the early/late variants. This mainly pertains to the in-cab I-ETMS and PTC antenna array.

For now, the ACe is scoring the CPKC array.

Tonight, I finished the BNSF array in Blender. Materials have been assigned, UVs unwrapped, and it's ready for Substance workflow.

And finally, DynamX 2. DynamX was a particle system I developed while I was in TruRail Simulations. I'm adapting the original script and making enough changes to warrant a new version. The effects won't even be comparable to the old ones at the end of it.

That's all for tonight. I'll be back in the near future with more updates and maybe even a teaser.
